Introduction to Pickleball

You’ve heard the buzz—now experience the game. Learn the rules, scoring and gain a brief introduction to game play to see if this is a game for you. Court shoes required, other equipment provided; bring your own paddle. 10 hrs MARILYN HAZLEWOOD took the Beginner Pickleball class at San Juan College three years ago and fell in love with Pickleball! She feels honored to teach this wonderful game to people of all ages and athletic ability. Be warned, it is very fun and addictive!

Mountain Biking Skills: The Foundation

Want to develop your riding skills to feel more confident and in control? Join us for a fun, comprehensive class that starts with foundational riding skills and offers targeted progressive individual and small group instruction. This format gives you the opportunity to progress at your own pace and you’ll be able to practice and apply these skills on any ride, in any terrain. This course is presented in an accepting, non-competitive environment, with plenty of laughter and camaraderie. This class is appropriate for riders who have familiarity and confidence with mountain bike controls, have experience riding single track bike trails, and have a fitness level that allows for moderate exertion on a mountain bike for one hour to 90 minutes. Mountain Biking Skills: The Next Level

Are you ready to up your skills and start riding at the next level? This class is appropriate for riders who have attended a skills clinic in the past such as “Mountain Biking Skills: The Foundation” offered through the San Juan College Community Learning Center or an equivalent mountain biking skills training. A rider with extensive experience and solid intermediate skills that has not attended a skills clinic in the past has the option of participating in an informal skills assessment with one of the instructors prior to the class start date. This will help determine if this course is a good fit for you. Riders should have a fitness level that allows for moderate to high exertion for 90 minutes to two hours. If you’ve reached a skills plateau, considered racing or want to ride more technical terrain, this class is for you. Topics include bike set-up to maximize rider integration, the importance of engaging your vision, footwork, and refining your body positioning. This course is presented in an accepting, non-competitive environment, with plenty of laughter and camaraderie. Jitterbug and East Coast Swing Basics

KAYLEIGH STEINBACH is a Farmington local. She has beenstudying the art form of belly dance for the past 10 years. Sheis the Team Leader for Team Farmington Shimmy Mob, adance member of local Belly Dance Troupe Red Desert Muse,and a student and dancer with Caldera Dance Companyin Silverton, Colorado. It is with great joy that she gets toteach the community in the same class where she began herpassion for belly dance over 10 years ago.
