Mountain Biking Skills: The Next Level

Class is canceled

Are you ready to up your skills and start riding at the next level? This class is appropriate for riders who have attended a skills clinic in the past such as “Mountain Biking Skills: The Foundation” offered through the San Juan College Community Learning Center or an equivalent mountain biking skills training. A rider with extensive experience and solid intermediate skills that has not attended a skills clinic in the past has the option of participating in an informal skills assessment with one of the instructors prior to the class start date. This will help determine if this course is a good fit for you. Riders should have a fitness level that allows for moderate to high exertion for 90 minutes to two hours. If you’ve reached a skills plateau, considered racing or want to ride more technical terrain, this class is for you. Topics include bike set-up to maximize rider integration, the importance of engaging your vision, footwork, and refining your body positioning. This course is presented in an accepting, non-competitive environment, with plenty of laughter and camaraderie. If you would like a skills assessment or have any question about whether this class is appropriate for you, please contact the lead instructor, Scott King at 505-330-1660 or All class sessions take place on or near local trails with possibilities including: SJC area trails, Anasazi, Mood Swings, (Glade Recreation Area) Mountain View (Aztec) and Alien Run (Hart Canyon, north of Aztec) Phil’s World System (Cortez, CO), Twin Buttes, Grandview System (Durango, CO) 20 hrs.
